On the 21st and the 22nd of February2009 was actually one of the happiest moments in my Scouting journey for the past 7 years. Actually one of the very few moments I was pretty proud with.
On the 21st of February, I went for my so called last part of my probationary period to becoming a full fledged Rover Scout. My vigil night. Looking at it in a way it was quite scary as I was left alone in the dark "forest" of Bukit Kiara with nothing but my Scout Uniform, a pen, a few pieces of paper, a burning candle and of course my personal belongings to go through my final test on my physical and my mental strength. I was indeed an experience which I will never forget and I did realized somethings which I haven't realized all along yes there are something in the paper of questions which made me think really really deeply and consider for a change in life. Some of the questions did hit my emotions and some did give me some pain for what I have been doing wrong for the past 19 years I've been alive which God the Almighthy has given me. After enduring about almost 2 hours of mental and physical bombardment, it was finally the end of the vigil night and it was left for the my Rover Crew Executives to discuss whether me and 3 more squires had what it takes to be a somewhat a full fledge Rover Scout.
Next come the 22nd of February. Yes this very day is a special day for me, as a Scout. It's Founder's day of course. Yes it's our Scout movement founder's Birthday, the late, Lord Baden-Powell. Not only it was Founder's Day but also the very day I had my first AGM with my crew since 2 years I've been with them. On this very day and this very evening during the meeting, I was being pronounced as a full fledge Rover by my Scoutermaster, Scouters, and Lay Committee members. Yes this time I received my red Rover epaultes bearing the word "KELANA" which means Rover. I didn't managed to ask a friend to snap a picture for me but I did took a picture of 2 at home of the red epaulets I received.
Ah....... I am still so so so happy even after 2 days of the AGM.
